After Care
Push for a solid diagnosis, to obtain services tailored to your childs illness.
Step 1
Phone the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) at 604-688-3234 to inquire whether you are entitled to a special care card for free prescriptions under Plan G.
Step 2
Join a group or society, such as Parent's Together (604-325-0556) or The F.O.R.C.E. (604-878-3400), for ongoing support and updated relevant information, or call BCSS at 604-270-7841 to ask about their Family to Family support group.
Step 3
Get to know more about these illnesses & how it presents differently in young people. For more information, see the National Association for Mental Illnesses web site at nami.org.

Take advantage of programs offered in your community. Note: Services vary between communities.
